The intent of http://www.FundingForSchool.wordpress.com is to assist students in finding resources to help fund their post-secondary education. The website was put together in 2015 by Career Counsellors in Horizon School Division #205. Since then, hundreds of thousands of dollars in awards have been received through applications found on this very site. In one year alone, three students were recipients of $140 000 combined. It is up to each individual student to take personal ownership in their search to acquire funding for their post-secondary aspirations…and although this site is not the be-all and end-all it is an excellent place to start!

Students also need to be on top of the deadlines for their various applications for post-secondary. Please visit the programs section on the website for the institution you choose to apply to. Also, many scholarship applications require that you prove that you have been accepted/conditionally accepted before you apply for their respective scholarship…if you know where you want to attend school then apply as soon as possible. Remember to read all of the details regarding a potential scholarship to see if you are eligible and what you all need to include in your submission for it.
